Yahoo Mail to Outlook Possible?

I have my comcast mail importing and exporting in Outlook Express and like it much better than webmail. I have multiple emails that can be accessed by switching users in Outlook all comcast. This is wonderful to look at business, work and home email accounts all on one page.

What I can't seem to do this morning is to set up Outlook to pull in my Yahoo email address. Does anyone know what to type in incoming: POP3 & outgoing SMTP to import my Yahoo mail?

Thanks, CWS

RE: Yahoo Mail to Outlook Possible?

Yahoo no longer lets you use Outlook (or any other mail client) to get your email for free. You must now pay $19.99 per year for Yahoo Mail Plus (http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/or...index.html). If you are already paying for Plus, here are the instructions to set up your Outlook http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/or...p-08.html.

Good old Yahoo charges you to check your email. Hmmm...

That's not right. Do you know the providers that can be imported. I have two comcast accounts and in the past EV1 and Verizon that did import. How about GMail?

This is correct. I use it for my business purposes, and I like it. I have my yahoo account (which I use for my business) linked to my Windows Mail (Vista's version of Outlook), and to my blackberry. The $19.99 is a small price to pay for the convenience.

And Yahoo is not charging you to check your email. They are charging you for the services to have your email sent using a POP3 server to an external email program. You can still check your yahoo mail for free, you just have to log on to the yahoo mail web page to do it.

That's because they are losing money because they aren't getting enough ad clicks. They make you either go to their site, hoping you'll click an ad, or else you have to pay 20 bucks a year which is probably equivalent to a year's worth of you clicking ads.

Gmail is free, Carwash. Their success doesn't hang on you clicking their ads.

My backup mail is hotmail. Apart from the spam, it has served me well for as long as I can remember.
I use it for first time private connecting with fellow emailers.
But it's also useful when registering to buy online. Keeps the spam out of one's personal box.
Not been to yahoo. I was told it's better but not gone there.
My kids use it (yahoo) but they are more savvy than me with internet use. My eldest son 'borrows' my computer from time to time. About time the skinflint bought his own. Smile
