RE: What hobbies do you enjoy?

Mike you and your wife did a great job! I love the blue pots, that's not something I've seen before, it's really unique.
Was laying the flagstone difficult? I have been after my husband about a patio.

My hobbies include collecting all different types of salt & pepper shakers. When i usually tell someone that you should see the looks I get and I tell them you should she the unusual looking shakers I get as well. I also collect snowmen stuff as well. My house is decorated in nothing but snowmen every Christmas and my collection just keeps getting bigger!!

I've known a couple of people that collect S&P shakers. There are some really great ones out there!
I love the snowmen too. My house is decorated like that at Christmas with mostly blue ones.

If I'm breathing, it's a good day!

I collect beer bottles. I'm not talking about bud products, or really any mass produced domestic garbage. I like trying different imports and microbrews, and with every new one I try, I keep the bottle. I think I've got close to 200, but I havent counted them. I also play golf alot more than I should. It keeps me out of trouble.

Another hobby I need to get back into, and plan on doing so when we buy our house, is my mustang. I havent driven it in about 4 years. I havent even seen it in over a year. Hopefully, when we get our house later this year, I can get it running again.

I don't like the mass produced stuff either.
In the UK, my favourite beers on a warm day are:
Fiddler's elbow-wychwood brewery
Spitfire-Shepheard Neame brewery
Bishop's Finger-shepherd Neame brewery
Old peculiar-Theakstons brewery
Speckled Hen-Morland's brewery

I prefer the bottled ales.
All these are great chilled-but not cold!

I've had the Old Peculiar and the Speckled Hen. Both are great beers. The others I'm not sure if I've had or not. I firmly believe that any beer that needs to be a couple of degrees shy of frozen in order to be tolerable, is not a good beer.

I'll look and see if I have any pics that I can find. I had alot of pics on my old laptop, but the HDD crashed. The pics of my old game (where my bottle collection was displayed) room may be on my desktop. If so, I'll post a few pics of the bottles.

The mustang is nothing special. It's a red 90GT with a grey kick panel. It was mildly modded, mostly bolt ons. I had the stock engine rebuilt and bored .040 over (308 CID, stock is 302), cold air intake, short shifter, MSD 6AL ignition, MSD blaster coil, MSD distributor, accel 8.8mm race wires, MAC equal length shorty headers, Bassani off road X pipe (gone now, sold it to a friend), flowmasters (sold with the x-pipe), BBK 70mm throttle body, AC removed, FoMoCo B303 cam, completely gutted interior (carpet as well as back seats), and 3.73:1 rear gears. It is a bit beat up as far as the body is concerned. Nothing big, it was never wrecked, just little whiskey dents and the paint is a bit faded. The suspension needs to be replaced as a result of me plopping down in the driver seat during the 3 years I drove it as a daily driver (I was around 300lbs then, thankfully not anymore). I started taking it apart, with the intentions of rebuilding it into a nice car that I could cruise around in. Once I got the engine apart, the transmission out and somewhat apart, I started making my list of stuff to buy to build a decent looking car that would run like a scalded dog. Unfortunately, before I could buy anything, I got laid off, and have not touched it since. This was in 05. I just havent had time, money, or a place to work on it since then. It had been in my garage for at least 6 months before I got laid off, so it's been a little over 4 years since I've driven it.

I'd love a Shelby mustang. I often see a few at the racetrack when we are racing.

I have an old production racing Triumph Bonneville in my garage. It still awaits restoration. Afraid it's sat there since 1989 when I and a pal bought the team pair.
Mine has a great racing pedigree.

Wychwood brewery poster campaign.....

Fiddler's elbow ale.....

The Dog's bollocks beer. (Excuse the dodgy word)....IT'S CALLED THAT!

Toungue  RE: What hobbies do you enjoy?

I have just finished a hot day's work on the hotest day so far this year in the UK. It hit mid eighties.
Not much to you Texans I know, but it gets horribly humid here on hot days.

So, on the way home, I detoured to my local off licence(liquor store) and purchased two bottles of that legendary brew, Theakston's old peculiar.
Appropriately cooled, it is easily the king of brews.

I usually drink it with a good strong English cheddar chees and fresh bread. No butter or dressing. Sometimes, less is more.
