Every activist has an agenda. That is not an argument.

It's simply an agenda that you chose to oppose due to your religious values. To make this a strong opposition, you are going to need to explain how your religious values are valid.

BYS said: I do not agree with the practice of bullying, but I also think that there would be a lot less of it if the homosexuals did not flaunt it in everyone's faces.

No. I see it everyday. Ignorant, biogoted children are insecure and full of rage. The insecure and vengeful seek out people they deem weaker and/or more socially unacceptable than they are themselves. IMO, they pick out the gay kids (or kids they assume are gay, most aren't even gay!) because it's one of the last groups of kids in Baytown that they can pick on without repercussion. They don't pick on the black kids because people will scream racism and because the black kids will beat the crap out of them. If you need more evidence...when I tell the children to do something that they don't agree with...their reply....that's gay.

BYS said: They should also not flirt with a straight person in front of his peers. Right or wrong, that boy was asking for trouble. He instigated it.

Again, we do not know what the child said to Larry previously (keeping in mind that torment from this child could have been going on weeks, months, years) that might have warranted such an innappropriate response from him. If he was being harassed it is the natural response to fight back. Therefore, it is worrisome that you believe that Larry "asked for trouble."

If he had just minded his own business, nothing would have happened.

Bull. Refer to my first paragraph. Is this your approach on all bullying victims or just the gay children? CDC research found that 33% of gay youth will attempt suicide. In fact, gay teen suicide attempts are four times that of heterosexual youth. I wonder why that is? Either all the "flaunting" wears them out OR the more likely reason is that other kids torture them daily. I applaud school systems that are actually trying to find a solution to bullying rather than the school system here that does nothing. Call it re-education, call it whatever you want. At least they are DOING SOMETHING to help these children.

BYS, what do you think is the appropriate approach for these types of bullies? How should they be punished? Do you think they should be punished or should the gay children be punished for "flaunting" and/or instigating?

I just can't help but feel like you are combining your views of homosexuality being immoral with the fact that children are being bullied: verbally and physically sometimes to the point of death. It simply shouldn't matter if the kid is gay or not. You don't have to accept the lifestyle. You do have to recognize that you have to live among it and that those people deserve the right to a peaceful life just as you and I.

There wouldn't be so much of it if it was not so heavily promoted by hollywood, the music industry and the activists. I know because my teenage granddaughter has told me quite a bit. That is one reason she no longer attends public school.

There wouldn't be so much of what? Homosexuality or bullying?

So you think that sexuality is somewhat dependent on the influence of society? I mean, I agree to a certain extent, but I think you might be giving it too much weight. Do you really think that there are kids who willfully want to be discriminated against and bullied because they think that pro-homosexuality messages in pop-culture are cool? Really?
