RE: The difference between tolerance and Christ's love

Ed,

Do you suffer from memory loss? You have responded plenty...as of yesterday when you implied that I was not a true Christian. Did you forget about that? It doesn't matter to me one iota if you respond to me or not. Plenty of people feel the same way about you as I do. You asked for it with your venom. You may be able to push around people in your world but on this board you will not do it to me.

Anyway, get over it. No one cares anymore.

On another note...

I was having a discussion with a guy that I work with who also happens to be a pastor about that very same thing.

The way he interpreted that comment wasn't that Christians should not respond to verbal/physical attacks...but that they should "turn the other cheek" symbolically. The example he used was that of Roman soldiers. When a Roman soldier slapped Jesus and knocked him down he got back up and "turned the other cheek" in defiance to let the soldier slap that one too.

I'd never heard it interpreted that way before and I thought it was interesting.
