RE: The Bible: Fiction Based on Fiction

Actually, they died for what people now BELIEVE they saw with their own eyes. We don't have any validation or confirmation that things went down as they are written in the bible. Even if we could confirm that there was a spiritual leader named Jesus, who had followers, who became martyrs after his death.... we still have no way to confirm that the extraordinary supernatural claims made in the texts attributed to some of his followers are anything more than legend, or fantasy. Do you have confirmation of this, or would you just rather keep on asserting these ideas without ANY verification?

More spin from you George.

Its you George who doesn't have any validation of what they wrote was not true. There were no writers who challenged anything they wrote. No one spoke up and said you full of it, none of what you say happend. Everyone new what happened. Many believed what they saw was from God many did not believe it was from God. But they all agreed what happened. There is no evidence at all that someone who was alive at time challenged any of the claims.

RE: The Bible: Fiction Based on Fiction

If supernatural events happened, for multitudes to see, we should have external confirmation. The fact that we don't supports the idea that these things didn't happen the way a bunch of neo-judaic cultists described it. Your gospel writers don't just receive legitimacy by writing down whatever they want.

What do you mean by, "they all agreed what happened." Did the Roman government of the time acknowledge the resurrection of Jesus? Did the synagogues shut down and adapt to Christian philosophy?

The fact that supernatural events don't happen in real life is proof that your bible makes false claims. Period.

RE: The Bible: Fiction Based on Fiction

According to the 1st century authenticated copy of a letter from Pontius Pilate to Tiberius Ceasar, held by the Library of Congress, and the original being in the Vatican Library in Rome, the Roman authorities did witness and authenticate Jesus's presence as well as his supernatural abilities and gifts.

Last paragraph below from letter.

Now, Noble Sovereign, these are the facts concerning Jesus of Nazareth and I have taken time to write you in detail concerning these matters. I say that such a man who could convert water into wine, change death into life, disease into health, calm the stormy seas, is not guilty of any criminal offence and as others have said, we must agree truly this is the Son of God!

Your most obedient servant,

PONTIUS PILATE

Um... this letter is part of what the Catholic church considers exaggerated and amplified apocrypha. The Catholic Church itself views this "authenticated" document as a pious fraud.

So, this doesn't actually confirm anything. Sorry.

Another example of anti-Christ propaganda. As I said before G, you can find any kind of lies to back up anything on the internet. Just because it's in print, doesn't make it true.
