Well.Malcolm.I guess I will invite foreigners and out of state people here.Baytown is a dead town.
Yeah, the site is not growing as quickly as I had hoped (I'm sure it's no secret by now that I'm the owner/operator). I guess the Baytown Sun has cornered the market on Baytown forums. Oh well. I'm glad you guys enjoy the board and I plan to leave it up indefinitely. Now that I'm not spending money on advertising (I was tired of money going out and no visitors coming in), it's fairly inexpensive to run. And it's nice to have a local, online "home away from home" to visit. And who knows, maybe one day it will pick up some momentum. It seems strange that even the free classifieds don't do much though. Maybe I need to make some bumper stickers...
It is not the board. It is the town. I could have gotten a large number of people here already. But they are all over the USA ,Canada and several foreign nations. Then I wonder how they will get along as a group? But then it could not be as bad as letting a good board sink. Here is one thing some comment about.I have about the same feelings on the matter. You can find local, state and national news and gossip anywhere including Google. Those who come here look for a personal sort of board and when they open the page they see things by professional journalist. I tossed my TV in my pond years ago to get away from those verbal prostitutes. They run the country and tell us what to think.I think the citizen are more important. They fight the wars and pay the taxes. They also produce rather than blabber their mouth.
