Obama's foreign policy perspective questioned

One of the nation’s leading critics of Islam argues that Barack Obama's recent visit to Israel and the Middle East shows that, in terms of foreign policy, the first-term senator is not prepared to be president of the United States.
Robert Spencer is the director of Jihad Watch and a best-selling author. He paid close attention to Senator Obama's recent visit to the Holy Land where the presidential hopeful pledged his support for the Nation of Israel. But Spencer says Obama's comments have contradicted earlier statements where he supported the Palestinian position.
"Probably the main thing to get out of Barack Obama's trip to Israel, and to the Middle East in general, is that it does show that he's not prepared to be president of the United States in terms of foreign policy -- that he is generally following a naive appeasement line," says Spencer.
He also questions whether Obama is sincere in his statements about a loyalty to Israel. "It seems pretty clear that it's a policy motivated by vote-getting," he adds. "Now whether he will be sincere or not in that remains to be seen, but the contradiction has to be noted by any fair observer."
Spencer believes Obama does not appear to have a coherent perspective on a lot of the important issues of our day.
