Obama is less concerned about immigrants learning English, than he’s is concerned about American children learning Spanish.

Is there some reason our children shouldn't learn other languages, making them more easily adaptable to other cultures? What do you have against language education? And how is learning other languages non-patriotic?

Hey Ed, don't you understand, our kids need to learn Spanish so they can speak the national language when Mexico takes back the US.

"Takes back" implies that Mexico had the U.S. at one time. Mexico did have Texas, to an extent at one time, but it never had the entire national boundary of the U.S. You mean Texas right?

Nothing wrong with Americans learning other languages, but I don't see it being a requirement. I do think immigrants should have to learn some basic English, as I think I should have learn the native language if I wanted to move to another country.....

I was in a store the other day and asked the cashier a question. She didn't even understand much less speak English!! I was walking thru Penneys last week. The announcement on the intercom was in Spanish. Everyone around me was speaking Spanish. I felt like I was in Mexico. I couldn't hear English being spoken anywhere. What's wrong with this picture?
