Ide, I respect your opinion, but I'm really curious. Whom do you think this scripture is referring to?

2 Timothy 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

Obviously this scripture is referring to society. However, if we extract this one verse out of the Bible and ask ten people on this forum how they think it applies, we would probably get 8 or 10 different answers. Personally, I would equate this to Obama's minister who is preaching hatred and racial supremecy or Hollywood's Scientology or to any Atheist in the world. Can I understand that one would relate this with Osteen? Yes. Do I agree? No.

As an atheist and a student of Philosophy, I think we should have a discussion about truth vs. fable and how that relates to Christianity.

Would anyone be up for that?
