Well, at least part of that prophecy would be correct... Tongue

Ok... ok... you got me... my real name isn't "G" ! lol

BYS:

Whether he meant society or the "church," it's still not prophecy. It's still a vague pronouncement of "falling away."

Jesus said that something like this could happen to society. Prophecy isn't prophecy if it is vague, like "except there come a falling away first." You see the difference?

There are hundreds of prophecies that I can pick from.Let me pick one
and let me hear how George can explain it.

Micah wrote this about 400BC.

Micah 5:2 reveals that Bethlehem would be the birthplace of the Messiah.

This is extremely specific. It eliminates all other cities and towns throughout the world as a place in which the Messiah could be born.I can only guess how many towns and cities there were back then, perhaps hundreds.

This prophecy narrows the possibilities to one tiny, insignificant village just south of Jerusalem.

Was this a lucky guess?

RE: Is Jesus the only way?

Was there a historical Jesus, who was born in Bethlehem? And did he become the messiah?

That just too easy. All you do to void any number of hundreds of prophcies is to declare he didn't exist. But, that's what you do. You make these claims and never back them up.
I think you're one of the few who think there wasn't a Jesus. Most scholars, both christian and non christian admit that Jesus existed. In fact, most will say he died on a cross and was buried and on the 3rd day the body was missing.

So yea, He existed.

Zechariah 9:9:
Written 500 years before Christ came

Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

He did exactly that.

RE: Is Jesus the only way?

Will they? If so, then these "scholars" are probably Christian, and if not, they just accept the majority tradition of it. There are no documented records of his death, his burial, or his "missing" body. There are no external confirmations of these things either. I have refuted, on this very site, the supposed external confirmations of his existence. There is not verifiable evidence to suggest that he existed, and while there may be a number of "scholars" who believe he did, the number of those who believe he didn't is growing, due to intellectual debate about the issue.

At one time, scholars thought the sun revolved around the earth. Oh yeah, your bible says this too.

As a side note, I wonder how many people named Jesus were born in Bethlehem... if only we had records. Even if I conceded that he was a real historical person, and a religious teacher, it doesn't mean that he actually rose from the dead, or that he was a messiah, or that this is a valid prophecy. You assume all of this based on what you want to believe.

Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion! Shout, Daughter of Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and having salvation, gentle and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

He did exactly that.

Really? A prophecy about a man riding a donkey? I'm surprised they didn't turn everyone who came into town into a messiah! lol! Maybe they did, and that explains all of the legends that are so close to the jesus legend that exist. lol

p.s. - feel free to post your next "prophecy."

RE: Is Jesus the only way?

If you don't see it, i'll point it out. Your objection to BYS was these prophecies were not specific. I gave two examples of very specific prophecies, so your argument didn't hold up.
to scrutiny. So then you had to change your objection....Jesus didn't exist...LOL
You're just lying to yourself George and there's nothing I can do about that.

Why post another phrophecy? Your mind is made up.
