I'm not sure but way back another site for Baytown was built that was less micro managed. hello baytown or something. It was not this site. I looked at this one a while back and Dorian was the main poster. I believe there is another site.

Sure, I don't mind sharing a bit about myself. I'm a 35 year old divorced father of two girls ages 3 and 15. I've raised my 15 year old myself since she was 7 and she is currently away at a Christian Academy getting an excellent education, while my 3 year old lives with me and her mother. I live, work, eat, sleep, and get all of my entertainment right here in Baytown (I hate driving in Houston). When I'm not working on the web, I like to pass the time with books and movies. My favorite authors are Stephen King and Dean Koontz and my favorite movie is "Lawrence of Arabia". I've worked in the IT industry for about 10 years now, mostly in web design/support which is my current occupation.

I created BaytownBB.com for a few reasons; the main one being to provide a hobby for myself. I find maintaining and supporting a site for my community very enjoyable. The second reason was to provide an alternative to the Baytown Sun's forum. Instead of just making a simple forum like theirs, I wanted to provide a "local" site where users could customize their own experience. Here you can select a personal avatar that reflects your personality, upload a photo of yourself, put friends on your buddy list, rate posts, place a classified for free, list your garage sale on our calendar, subscribe to forums, get the latest local news and weather, send each other private messages, attach photos to your posts, put irritating people on your "ignore list", chat live in multiple custom rooms, play over 1,300 online games, and more all for free.

If you think I provide this site for personal income, you're mistaken. Between hosting fees and advertising I lose about $200 a month. Like I said, I do it because I enjoy it.

As far as looking at IP adresses and such, your privacy is protected here just like any other respectable site. The only information I know about you other than your email adress and what you post in your profile is your IP and some general statistics like your screen resolution and browser version. These help me to adjust the site so that it looks correct on the majority of broswers and screen sizes. And I DO NOT provide your email adress to anyone whatsoever. You can even hide your email adress from the other members of this board.

Oh, and if you don't like the template, you can always select another theme. In the bottom-right corner of each page is the "Quick Theme". Just click it to pull down the other selections. Right now there are just two others to choose from, but I will be adding more in the future.

I'm just curious, what other forum do you post at where you know everything there is to know about the administrator, especially personal stuff? Kudos to Dorian for his response, but I would have told you if you're not comfortable posting on my site because you don't know enough about me personally, then you need to find some place else to post! My personal life is just like yours...personal! Just my opionion.

Yes that should do it. I'm using smoothblue theme and it looks real nice. I don't see many members of the old BS site yet. Maybe they will be coming soon.
